Resource Gathering

Tools are used to gather various resources in Hazordhu, the most basic as wood and minerals, which are necessary to create buildings and item-extending accessories, such as anvils and forges. Gathering resources is done with double clicking on a source of the material, with the respective tool equipped to one's main hand.

Hatchet

The hatchet is used to chop logs from trees. To chop a tree, double click a tree while facing it. One can then right click a log to chop it into 1-3 boards.

Pickaxe

The pickaxe is used to mine minerals from deposits. To mine minerals, double click a rock while facing it. There are a variety of rocks, ranging from clay, metal, stone, and the rarest, Hazium.

Fishing Rod

Fishing rods are used to gather fish in fresh and saltwater.

Farming

Shovel

The shovel is used to dig dirt from grass, or dig sand from the coasts of islands. The dig up dirt or sand, right click the Shovel while standing on either normal ground or sand. Right-clicking dirt on the ground will pack it down into a path.

Hoe

The hoe is used to plow land. To plow land, right click a path that is not plowed.

Building

Knife

The knife is used to skin dead corpses to gather meat and either fur or Skin. The knife is also used to create most appliances in the Woodworking section of Skills.

Hammer

The hammer is used off-hand in combination to the chisel to make bricks and larger wood appliances. It is also used off-hand in combination with Tongs to make metal, Hazium bars, and glass.

Trowel

The trowel(formerly known as a Straight Edge) is used to make appliances in the Masonry section of Skills.

Refining

Carding Tool

The carding tool is used main-hand in combination with a needle and spool to turn phluf into thread.

Chisel

The chisel is used main-hand in combination with a hammer to make bricks from stone and sandstone and to write on stone signs.

Tongs

The tongs are used main-hand to create bars and glass in a forge.

Brush

Brushes are used to turn fur and skin into leather or pieces of parchment. They use tannin and water as brushing substances.

Miscellaneous

Paddle

The paddle is used to navigate boats in the ocean. Other than this, it serves no other purpose.

Staff

The staff is used to herd animals. The staff can also be used as a weapon, but is not preferred because it is weaker than many other weapons.

Quill

The quill is used to write on parchment with ink in the inventory. It is made from right clicking a feather with a knife in the main-hand.

Tinder Box

See 'Tinder Box'.

Pipe

It is used to smoke with huff. It is not of much use.

Handheld Torch

Before a few of Hazordhu's updates, torches were used to shine through the dark when Hazordhu's light system was active. They can be hung up on walls to light or decorate them.
